Thiruvananthapuram: Days after the medical college scam involving party leaders made headlines, it seems more trouble is in store for the BJP Kerala unit.
Informed sources say fresh allegations of corruptions are being levelled against office-bearers, which will defenitely create headache for the state unit in the coming days.
Certain leaders have alleged that corruption to the tune of Rs 88 lakh have taken place regarding tax exemption for Tejaswini building on the Technopark campus. The leaders, who attended the Thiruvananthapuram district committee meeting, said the decision to depute an enquiry commission to investigate the charge would be taken at the state committee meeting.
The leaders themselves say irregularities related to the appointments in central government institutions, transfers, and execution of central government projects would surface in the coming days.
They say money was accepted from a well-known person close to party leadership, by offering the governor’s post in a north-eastern state. This apart, bribe was taken from another controversial businessman after offering him a top post in central government.
Even though the reports of these deals leaked within the party, it is learnt that the money was returned to the respective persons with interest before the issue snowballing into controversies.
The party leadership is probing the complaint of a mid-level leader accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from an official serving at a north-eastern state for his transfer and appointment to a top post in Thiruvananthapuram airport.
